Grant from the Darkley Trust
Helping our Homeless Wales has been awarded a grant from the Darkley Trust, of £1,500 towards the costs of sleep pods and food containers and cups. In addition to these things, £500 of the grant goes towards continuing a craft group for the vulnerable and those struggling with mental health or poverty.
Sara Bowie, Trustee of the Darkley Trust, said: “Helping our Homeless Wales completely fits the criteria of organisations and projects that the Trust wish to support. Our geographical remit is to look at Wales and her borders and to support those who are unfortunate not to have a home and to offer a lifeline for those in need.
“The work done by Helping our Homeless Wales, a small charity with a big heart, makes a huge difference and Sarah has inspired individuals to become involved, both in fundraising and with practical support. The Trust wanted to acknowledge both her role in encouraging community involvement but also her hard work and commitment in delivering the work of the charity.”
Sarah Mason, Founder of Helping our Homeless Wales, said: “We are obviously delighted to receive this grant, which enables us to help so many more people, both experiencing homelessness and living in financial hardship. We thank the Darkley Trust for recognising the importance of the work we do, and look forward to getting the support out to where it’s most needed.”
